1. अपना UPI PIN किसी को न बताएं
 
UPI PIN ऑनलाइन ट्रांजेक्शन करने के लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण होता है इसलिए अपना पिन किसी से भी शेयर न करें। साथ ही अपना पिन किसी पेपर पर न लिखें और न ही अपने मोबाइल में सेव करें। ऑनलाइन भुगतान करते समय भी अपना पिन दूसरों को न देखने दे क्योंकि अपने UPI पिन को गुप्त रखना आपकी प्राथमिकता होनी चाहिए।  
 
2. अपने मोबाइल का स्क्रीन लॉक लगाएं
 
ऑनलाइन पेमेंट को सुरक्षित बनाने के लिए अपने मोबाइल पर स्क्रीन लॉक होना अनिवार्य है जिसके कारण आप अपनी सूचना को सुरक्षित रख सकते हैं। स्क्रीन लॉक होने के कारण कोई भी आपका फ़ोन आसानी से नहीं खोल सकता है और न आपके बैंक से संबंधित एसएमएस को पढ़ सकता है।
3. विभिन्न पेमेंट ऐप के इस्तेमाल से बचें
 
इंटरनेट पर कई तरह की पेमेंट एप मौजूद हैं पर आपको अधिकतम 2 पेमेंट एप का ही इस्तेमाल करना चाहिए। दरअसल पेमेंट एप आपके भुक्तान को काफी सुरक्षित रखती है पर ज़्यादा एप प्रयोग करने से आपके पेमेंट अकाउंट ज़्यादा होंगे जिसके कारण आपको सू चना रखने में परेशानी हो सकती है।

आपने अक्सर फ़ोन नंबर पर ऑनलाइन पेमेंट किया होगा पर फ़ोन नंबर पर पेमेंट करने से बेहतर आप UPI id या QR कोड का ही इस्तेमाल करें। फ़ोन नंबर पर भुक्तान करते समय हो सकता है आप नंबर गलत डाल दें या आपका नंबर बैंक अकाउंट से लिंक हो जिसके कारण आपको धोखाधड़ी के फ़ोन या मैसेज आ सकते हैं।
