'सावधानी हटी, दुर्घटना घटी" जैसे कई संदेश हम अक्सर अपने दिनचर्या में सुनते हैं क्योंकि आज के इस युग में सावधान व सुरक्षित रहना हमारे लिए बहुत ज़रूरी है। आपने इस तरह के संदेश अक्सर हाईवे, रोड़, वाहन या कार्यस्थल में देखे होंगे क्योंकि ये संदेश सरकार के निर्देश के अनुसार लगाएं जाते हैं ताकि आप किसी भी दुर्घटना के लिए सतर्क रहें।
 
साथ ही दुर्घटना से सावधान व सतर्क रहने के लिए भारत में हर साल 4 मार्च को राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा दिवस (National Safety Day) मनाया जाता है। इस दिवस को मानाने का मकसद आपको सड़क सुरक्षा, कार्यस्थल, पर्यावरण, स्वस्थ एवं स्वयं की सुरक्षा के प्रति जागरूक करना है। ये दिवस 4-10 मार्च तक पुरे सप्ताह एक कैंपेन (campaign) के रूप में मनाया जाता है। चलिए जानते हैं कि क्या है राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा दिवस का इतिहास-
 
क्या है राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा दिवस का इतिहास? 
इस दिवस की शुरुआत नेशनल सेफ्टी कॉउन्सिल (National Safety Council) द्वारा 1972 में की गई थी और इस वर्ष भारत 52वां राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा दिवस मानाने जा रहा है। इस दिवस को एक सप्ताह तक कैंपेन (campaign) के रूप में मनाया जाता है और इस कैंपेन के ज़रिए विभिन्न सेमिनार, पोस्टर, इवेंट, कम्पटीशन की मदद से लोगों को सुरक्षा के प्रति जागरूक किया जाता है।
 
दरअसल नेशनल सेफ्टी काउंसिल भारत सरकार के श्रम मंत्रालय (Ministry of Labour) द्वारा 1966 में स्थापित किया गया था ताकि Safety, Health और Environmental (SHE) के विकास को राष्ट्रीय स्तर तक ले जाया जाए। ये एक गैर सरकारी संगठन है जो सोसाइटी रजिस्ट्रेशन एक्ट 1860(Societies Registration Act ) और बॉम्बे पब्लिक ट्रस्ट एक्ट 1950(Bombay Public Trust Act) के तहत दर्ज है। 
 
क्या है राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा दिवस 2023 की थीम? : इस वर्ष राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा दिवस का थीम "हमारा लक्ष्य-शुन्य हानि"(OUR AIM-ZERO HARM) तय किया गया है। साथ ही नेशनल सेफ्टी कॉउन्सिल (National Safety Council) के अधिकारी सुचना के ज़रिए सभी संस्था को इस थीम को अपनाने की अपील की है ताकि कार्यस्थल पर सभी कर्मचारी सुरक्षित रहे और सावधानी रखें।

कार्यस्थल की सुरक्षा के लिए 10 टिप्स जो आपको जानना है ज़रूरी:-
  • अपने आस पास के माहौल, फर्नीचर व इक्विपमेंट(equipment) से सावधान रहें। आप ये सुनिश्चित करें की आपका फर्नीचर, माहौल व इक्विपमेंट सही स्थिति में है या नहीं।
  • आपको पता होना चाहिए कि आपके ऑफिस में फर्स्ट ऐड किट(First Aid Kit) कहां है या चोट लगने पर किससे संपर्क करना चाहिए।
  • हमेशा ऑफिस के इक्विपमेंट (equipment) पर लिखी चेतावनी को पढ़ें और फिर उसका प्रयोग करें।
  • लगातार काम न करें बीच-बीच में ब्रेक लेते रहें।
  • उन टूल्स व इक्विपमेंट (tools and equipment) का प्रयोग न करें जिनके लिए आप ट्रैन (train) नहीं है।
  • आपको अपने ऑफिस के इमरजेंसी गेट (emergency gate) कितने हैं और कहा हैं, इसके बारे में सूचना होनी चाहिए।
  • आपको अपने ऑफिस के इमरजेंसी नियम की पूरी जानकारी होनी चाहिए।
  • हमेशा अपने ऑफिस के निर्धारित नियमों का पालन करें।
  • सही और साफ़ कपड़े व जूते पहनकर आएं ताकि आपका शरीर किसी भी तरह की चोट से सुरक्षित रहें।
  • अपनी डेस्क को हमेशा साफ़ रखें ताकि आप किसी भी तरह के इन्फेक्शन से दूर रहें।
