नई दिल्ली। केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (यूएई) में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) के प्रतिनिधि को पत्र लिखकर यह सुनिश्चित करने को कहा है कि मंकीपॉक्स से मिलते-जुलते लक्षण वाले यात्रियों को विमान में सवार न होने दिया जाए ताकि देश में इस बीमारी के प्रसार को रोका जा सके।
 
स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव लव अग्रवाल ने यूएई में विश्व निकाय के कार्यकारी निदेशक और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य नियमन (आईएचआर) के संपर्क बिंदु डॉ. हुसैन अब्दुल रहमान अली रैंड को लिखे पत्र में भारत में पाए गए तीन संक्रमितों का हवाला दिया, जो खाड़ी देश से लौटे थे। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत आने से पहले ही उनमें मंकीपॉक्स संक्रमण के लक्षण उभरने लगे थे।
 
अग्रवाल ने 1 अगस्त को लिखे पत्र में कहा कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य नियमन (आईएचआर)-2005 के अनुच्छेद-18 के तहत डब्ल्यूएचओ अपने सदस्य देशों के लिए निकासी के समय यात्रियों की जांच की अनुशंसा करता है और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य आपात चिंताओं के मद्देनजर जरूरत पड़ने पर प्रभावित क्षेत्रों के लोगों की आवाजाही पर पाबंदी लगाने की अनुमति देता है।
 
उन्होंने कहा कि उपरोक्त तथ्यों के मद्देनजर अनुरोध किया जाता है कि निकासी पर जांच और सख्त की जाए, ताकि यह सुनिश्चित हो सके कि मंकीपॉक्स से मिलते-जुलते लक्षण वाले यात्री विमान में सवार न हो पाएं और देश में संक्रमण के प्रसार को कम किया जा सके।
 
अग्रवाल ने इस पत्र की प्रति डब्ल्यूएचओ के भारत में मौजूद प्रतिनिधि, विदेश मंत्रालय में संयुक्त सचिव (खाड़ी क्षेत्र) और नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव (यू) को भी भेजी है। पत्र में कहा गया है कि विश्व समुदाय अंतरराष्ट्रीय चिंता वाले एक और स्वास्थ्य आपात की गिरफ्त में है, ऐसे में यह आवश्यक है कि आईएचआर संपर्क बिंदु लगातार समन्वय करें और अहम सूचनाएं साझा करें ताकि संक्रमण का प्रसार रोका जा सके।
 
गौरतलब है कि भारत में अब तक मंकीपॉक्स के 8 मामले सामने आ चुके हैं जिनमें से 1 मरीज की मौत हो चुकी है। केंद्र सरकार ने मंकीपॉक्स से उत्पन्न होने वाली स्थिति पर करीबी नजर रखने और संक्रमण के प्रसार को रोकने के लिए एक कार्यबल का गठन किया है।
 
आधिकारिक सूत्रों ने बताया कि यह कार्यबल जांच सुविधाओं का विस्तार करने में सरकार का मार्गदर्शन करेगा और संक्रमण के खिलाफ टीकाकरण के उभरते रुझानों को भी टटोलेगा। गौरतलब है कि डब्ल्यूएचओ ने 23 जुलाई को मंकीपॉक्स को अंतरराष्ट्रीय चिंता वाली वैश्विक जनस्वास्थ्य आपात स्थिति घोषित किया था।(भाषा)
