ढाका। बांग्लादेश ने सुरक्षा चिंताओं का हवाला देते हुए दूरसंचार कंपनियों के रोहिंग्या शरणार्थियों को मोबाइल फोन कनेक्शन बेचने पर पाबंदी लगा दी है। बांग्लादेश की 4 मोबाइल फोन सेवा प्रदाताओं को चेताया गया है कि अगर उन्होंने म्यांमार से आए करीब 4 लाख 30 हजार शरणार्थियों को प्रतिबंध के दौरान फोन प्लान दिए तो उन पर जुर्माना लगाया जाएगा।
 
दूरसंचार मंत्रालय के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी इनायत हुसैन ने कहा कि फिलहाल वे (रोहिंग्या) कोई सिम कार्ड नहीं खरीद सकते। दूरसंचार राज्यमंत्री तराना हालिम ने कहा कि रोहिंग्या शरणार्थियों पर पाबंदी लगाने का शनिवार का यह फैसला सुरक्षा कारणों को ध्यान में रखते हुए लिया गया है।
 
उन्होंने रोहिंग्या से पैदा स्पष्ट खतरे के बारे में ज्यादा जानकारी दिए बिना कहा कि हमने मानवीय आधार पर (रोहिंग्या का स्वागत करने का) कदम उठाया लेकिन साथ ही हमारी अपनी सुरक्षा से समझौता नहीं किया जा सकता। 
 
बांग्लादेश के दूरसंचार विभाग ने कहा है कि इन शरणार्थियों को बायोमैट्रिक पहचान पत्र जारी होने के बाद पाबंदी हटाई जा सकती है लेकिन इस प्रक्रिया के बारे में सेना का कहना है कि इसमें 6 महीने लग सकते हैं। (भाषा)
