नई दिल्ली। मुंबई, दिल्ली और गुजरात में कोविड-19 के नए मामलों में भारी वृद्धि दर्ज की गई। पिछले 24 घंटों में कोरोना के 13,154 नए मामले सामने आए जबकि 268 मरीजों की मौत हो गई। देश के 22 राज्यों में ओमिक्रॉन संक्रमितों की संख्या बढ़कर 961 हो गई।

स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार, देश में संक्रमितों की संख्या बढ़कर 3,48,22,040 हो गई। मृतक संख्या बढ़कर 4,80,860 हुई। 82,402 मरीजों का उपचार जारी।

26 नवंबर के बाद पहले बार देश में 10,000 से ज्यादा नए मरीज मिले हैं। इस दिन कोविड-19 के कुल 10,549 मरीज मिले थे।

पंजाब में कोरोना वायरस के ओमीक्रोन स्वरूप से संक्रमण का पहला मामला सामने आया है। इस महीने 36 वर्षीय एक व्यक्ति स्पेन से राज्य में आया था जिसके नमूने की जांच में वायरस के इस स्वरूप की पुष्टि हुई है। इसके साथ ही वायरस के इस नए स्वरूप से प्रभावित राज्यों व केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की संख्या 22 हो गई है।

महाराष्ट्र में 85 और मरीजों के ओमीक्रोन स्वरूप से संक्रमित पाए जाने के बाद प्रदेश में इस स्वरूप से संक्रमितों की संख्या बढ़कर 252 हो गई है। मुंबई में नगर निकाय के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि महानगर में कोविड-19 के 2510 नए मामले सामने आए जो आठ मई के बाद सबसे ज्यादा है जबकि एक और मरीज की मौत हो गई। महानगर में इसके साथ ही संक्रमितों की कुल संख्या बढ़कर 7,75,808 हो गई है जबकि मरने वालों का आंकड़ा 16,375 हो गया है।

देश की आर्थिक राजधानी में मामलों में इजाफा 20 दिसंबर से हो रहा। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि मंगलवार को महानगर में 1,377 मामले देखे गए और बुधवार के आंकड़े में 80 प्रतिशत से अधिक की वृद्धि हुई। मुंबई में आठ मई को 2,678 मामले आए थे, जब महामारी की दूसरी लहर अपने चरम पर थी।
