कोरोना महामारी के बाद हमने अपनी लाइफस्टाइल में कई तरह की नई आदतों को अपनाया है। महामारी के बाद हम सबको ऑनलाइन क्लास (online class) का महत्व पता चला और पूरी दुनिया ने इस पैटर्न को अपनाया पर ऑनलाइन क्लास कोरोना महामारी के समय का कांसेप्ट (concept) नहीं है बल्कि इसकी शुरुआत 2008 में की गई थी। जी हां, MOOCs नाम से इस कांसेप्ट की शुरुआत 2008 में स्टेफेन डोन्स (Stephen Downes) और जॉर्ज सीमेंस (George Siemens) द्वारा की गई थी। चलिए जानते हैं कि क्या है MOOCs का मतलब........ 
 
क्या है MOOCs का मतलब?
 
मैसिव ओपन ऑनलाइन कोर्सेज (Massive Open Online Courses) डिस्टेंट लर्निंग (distant learning) के लिए बनाया गया है। डिस्टेंट लर्निंग का मतलब है कि जो विद्यार्थी कॉलेज या स्कूल नहीं जा सकते उनके लिए प्लेटफार्म  तैयार किया गया है।

MOOCs के ज़रिए विद्यार्थी किसी भी यूनिवर्सिटी (university) के कोर्स को पढ़ सकता है पर इसमें कोर्स ट्रेडिशनल लर्निंग(traditional learning) जैसे 2-3 साल तक के नहीं होते हैं। MOOCs आपको कम अवधि के कोर्स प्रदान करता है और साथ ही आपको कोर्स पूरा करने के बाद सर्टिफिकेट(certificate) भी मिलता जिससे आपका करियर एडवांसमेंट(career advancement) होता है। इंटरनेट पर edx, courser, udemy जैसी कई वेबसाइट है जो आपको दुनिया भर की टॉप यूनिवर्सिटी कोर्सेज  प्रदान करती हैं जिनका आप सर्टिफिकेट भी ले सकते हैं पर अधिकतर यूनिवर्सिटी के सर्टिफिकेट के लिए आपको कुछ निर्धारित राशि प्रदान करनी पड़ेगी।
